The Training Team in Surrey will be offering the following training courses for leaders.

Beaver & Cub Scout Leader Courses

BCS/01/09 Integrated Course comprising the following:
Day 1 Saturday 28th March 2009 Modules 5, 7, 8 & 9
Day 2 Sunday 29th March 2009 Modules 12, 14 & 18 (theory)
Day 3 Saturday 9th May 2009 Modules11, 15, 18 practical & 19
Day 4 Sunday 10th May 2009 Modules13 & 17
BCS/02/09 Integrated Course comprising the following:
Day 1 Saturday 12th September 2009 Modules 12, 14 & 18 (theory)
Day 2 Sunday 13th September 2009 Modules 5, 7, 8 & 9
Day 3 Saturday 17th October 2009 Modules13 & 17
Day 4 Sunday 18th October 2009 Modules11, 15, 18 practical & 19

The above courses are assembled as a complete package to give you the opportunity to work through significant elements of training with the same group.  You may book individual days or multiples of days as identified under each course programme. You may book the Modules common to all sections (5,7,8 and 9 all on one day) on any course.  Whilst any leader may attend any course, you should be aware that even for those modules that are common across the sections, there will be bias toward the sections the course is designed for.
Leaders who need single modules should discuss their requirement with their Local Training Manager.

The Nights Away course is designed as a learning experience to give leaders the basic training required for the Nights Away Module of the new training scheme.

All three days must be done in conjunction as a complete course

Following the course leaders will have to have their learning validated by their Nights Away Adviser before their DC can issue them with a Nights Away Permit

GSL Training - Managing your Group

Modules 20,21 & 24

These days are specifically aimed at GSLs to help with managing their group.  More information is available from Judy Kitchener who is willing to accept applications by email or phone.

Pioneering Courses

These courses are open to all leaders and adults; those with little or no experience and also those wishing to hone their skills. The course starts with simple knotting and ends with major pioneering projects and provides the skills needed to teach the Scout Pioneer Badge.  More information and applications forms are available from Dave Ring.

First Response – Module 10
First Response courses will be organised within each District as needs arise.  For further information on First Response courses please contact your Local Training Manager or District Commissioner.
Any First Response course organised should be published on the Surrey Scout training diary so that those not belonging to a specific Districts, or are unable their own Districts course have the opportunity to attend elsewhere.
